Savannah with Kids: A 3-Day Adventure

Get ready for an unforgettable family adventure in Savannah, Georgia! Over three days, you will explore the city's charming parks, interactive museums, scenic river cruises, and indulge in delicious food and treats. Savannah is the perfect destination for a family trip, offering a rich tapestry of history, culture, and fun-filled activities that cater to all ages.

Day 1:

We kicked off our Savannah adventure with a seriously cool morning at the Funky Brunch Café, where we got to play chef and whip up our own pancakes right at our table. Bellies full and spirits high, we cruised over to the Georgia State Railroad Museum, a total hit with the fam. Imagine stepping back in time to the golden age of locomotives, with steam and diesel engines chugging to life all around you. The Roundhouse, with its antebellum charm, was like a living history lesson. Our little explorers were fascinated by the turntable and loved getting an inside look at the vintage rail cars. Next door, the Savannah Children's Museum kept the fun going with outdoor play areas, a reading nook, and even a sensory garden where the kids could run wild.

Day 2:

Day two started with a caffeine fix for the grown-ups and donuts for the kiddos at Henny Penny Art Space and Café. Seriously, those bacon and cheddar kolaches are worth writing home about! Fueled up and ready for action, we hit up The Magical World of Toys, where we could've spent hours exploring the store packed with unique and educational goodies. The owner was so wonderful, recommending toys and letting the boys try things out. He even challenged my son to a game of chess! You won't find anything here from a big box store and you can see the pride the Owner takes in sourcing the very best toys for his shop!

Then it was off to the Telfair Children's Art Museum, a newer addition that totally wowed us with its interactive exhibits. From the funky Tunnel Gallery, where we learned all about Impressionism, to the mind-blowing Landscape Gallery, which brought the concepts to life in the coolest ways, it was pure kid-friendly magic with plenty of hands on fun!

Day 3:

Our last day in Savannah was all about chilling with nature at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center. Walking through the lush forests and spotting animals in their natural habitats was such a peaceful way to wrap up our trip. The "Wolf Wilderness" exhibit was a highlight – there's something awe-inspiring about seeing these majestic creatures up close. And the "Georgia Farm" area? Let's just say the goats were a big hit with the littles. As we said goodbye to Savannah, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the memories we made and the adventures we shared.
